About

My approach throughout any project is to create an aesthetically pleasing design that responds to the distinctiveness and individual character of the space, and which enhances existing site conditions in both a sensitive and responsible manner, working in harmony with nature.

My inspiration comes from the natural environment, finding natural landscapes both stimulating and inspiring. I like to bring this inspiration with me when I design.

I am originally from Sapporo in northern Japan and am now settled in Edinburgh. I currently work in both Edinburgh and Sapporo. I am a third generation horticulturist, my grandfather established a tree nursery and created a formal garden that he gifted to Sapporo City Council, and my parents run a plant nursery that specialises in Japanese alpines.

I have trained in horticulture in both Japan and the UK.
